The Warsash Rally September the 18th 2025
While many of us were away cruising the Chesapeake in warm sunny climes and very little win, Andrew Sutherland bravely organised the scheduled Warsash Rally – here is his report.
Following reports of atrocious weather conditions only five boats signed up to do this Rally on the 18th September. Two dropped out a week beforehand and one the day before. This just left Gerry and Caroline McCafferty who decided to go by car and Alex and Jenny Hall who went in their motor boat from Hythe. Despite the weather these intrepid sailors all made it to Warsash Sailing Club where they were made to feel very welcome by all at the staff. Their food was excellent and they agreed that the rally had been well worthwhile. A photograph is attached of our intrepid matelots enjoying their lunch in the club and of Alex and Jenny's boat, the only one that made it to the rally.
It was most unfortunate that the weather was so bad as we as a Club like to support other clubs in the Solent. Following the warm hospitality shown to our Members we must ensure that a rally to Warsash is included in next year's calendar.
