29er Fleet

The 29er fleet offers structured training, regular racing, winter coaching and opportunities to compete at national and international events, supporting sailors in developing the technical skills, teamwork, and tactical understanding required for success in this demanding class.

Training

Training is organised into Transition (first year of class experience) and Performance groups, enabling coaching to be tailored to each crew’s experience and stage of development. Depending on fleet size and conditions, groups may train independently or combine for shared sessions, providing the right balance of individual progression and competitive learning. Low sailor-to-coach ratios ensure focused, high-quality coaching, with an emphasis on developing boat handling, teamwork, tactical awareness, and consistent performance on the water.

Training options include one and two day weekend sessions, ad-hoc evening training, and focused preparation ahead of key 29er events. Sessions are regularly led by internationally respected coaches, whose technical expertise and extensive racing experience provide valuable insight.

Training is open to Members and non-Members.
